Hope & Hotfixes

Rambling Privacy Policy

Privacy information for Rambling: Notes, Poems & Thoughts.

Effective date: July 20, 2026

At a glance: Rambling stores your writings locally on your device. Hope & Hotfixes does not operate an account system, does not upload your writings to its servers, and does not sell the content you create. The app uses Google AdMob to display advertising, and Google and its advertising partners may process certain device and advertising information.

1. Who operates Rambling

Rambling: Notes, Poems & Thoughts (“Rambling,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Hope & Hotfixes. Questions about this policy may be sent to michelle@michellew.io.

2. Your writings

Poems, journal entries, stories, lyrics, ideas, quotes, tags, titles, and other writings you create in Rambling are stored locally on your device using the app’s local storage. Hope & Hotfixes does not receive, read, analyze, or upload the content of your writings.

The app does not currently require an account or cloud service. Closing and reopening the app normally preserves your writings, but uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, resetting your device, or certain device failures may permanently remove locally stored content.

3. Backups and sharing

Rambling includes optional sharing and backup features. The app only prepares or shares an entry or backup when you deliberately choose a share or backup command. Android then lets you select the destination app or service. Any information you send to another app or service is governed by that service’s privacy practices.

4. Advertising and Google AdMob

Rambling uses Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google, to display banner advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may collect, receive, or process information such as:

This information may be used to provide, measure, secure, limit, or personalize advertising, depending on your location, device settings, and consent choices. Your private writing content is not intentionally supplied to Google AdMob for advertising.

Learn more through Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

5. Consent and privacy choices

Where required, Rambling may display a Google consent or privacy-choice message before requesting advertising. Available choices may include consenting to personalized advertising, declining consent, managing vendors and purposes, or opting out of certain sale or sharing activities.

To review or change an available advertising privacy decision, open Rambling and use Settings → Privacy and cookie settings. The available form depends on your location and applicable law.

6. Permissions and internet access

Rambling uses internet access to request and display advertisements and obtain applicable consent information. Its core writing and organization features are designed to work without an internet connection. The current version does not request access to contacts, precise location, the microphone, camera, or your general device files.

7. Children

Rambling is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly operate an account system or intentionally collect the content of a child’s writings. Parents and guardians should supervise a child’s use of apps that display advertising and use the device’s parental controls where appropriate.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because writings are stored locally, you can delete individual writings inside Rambling. You can remove all locally stored app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app. Before uninstalling, use the backup feature if you wish to preserve your writings.

Data processed independently by Google or advertising partners is retained according to their own policies and your available privacy choices.

9. Security

We design Rambling so that writing content remains on the device rather than being routinely transmitted to our servers. No storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect access to your device with an appropriate screen lock, and keep backups of writing you cannot afford to lose.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Rambling’s features, advertising services, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy is revised.

11. Contact
